102 – The Living Universe and Us …

There is no doubt in my mind … not a bit, not a trace … that, like you and I, our Universe is a living organism.

This idea is based on the Fact … as much as our current scientific focus (Reductionism/Materialism) wants to deny it … that nothing is engendered into Life from something that is not alive.

If you and I, like our Universe, were born into being from something small … very small … already knowing how to build our own bodies into magnificently complex and evolving organizations of myriads … upon myriads … of diverse yet common components.

And if you and I, like our Universe, instinctively learned how to create our own components, making them ingenious and with a knack for experimentation, yet obedient to the primal urges to survive and adapt and bond and regenerate.

And if you and I, like our Universe, adapted     and continue to adapt … untaught … to changing and oftentimes adverse environments … manipulating and being manipulated … while relentlessly moving onward, seeking stability.

And if you and I, like our Universe, relentlessly seek stability … oftentimes by instinct, yet sometimes with self-determined choice … overcoming detours and accidents and trials and mistakes, until we no longer can, and dissipate back into Origin.

And if you and I do these things … self-creating, self-organizing, learning, adapting, experimenting with ingenuity, seeking stability, moving onward with a degree of volition … because we are alive. And if our Universe is fundamentally doing these same things… self-creating, self-organizing, learning, adapting, experimenting with ingenuity, seeking stability, moving onward with a degree of volition … does it not follow that, like you and I, the Universe is alive?

When we ultimately incorporate this Fact into our perception of the Universe, our quest will then not be to find what the Universe is, but what Life is.

This transition will change us dramatically, especially when we already know that we are … as far as we know … the universal component with the highest degree of self-awareness in Nature. And even if we discover other high forms of self-awareness, the implications of embarking on a new quest to understand Life are monumental because, although Life is in you and I … we feel it, we are aware of it, we move it, it moves us, we are one of its myriad manifestations – minute and immense, creative and destructive, powerful and tender … Life is, as yet, incomprehensible to us.

And so, like the pioneer cells in a new born human mind … reaching within    and far away from us, seeking connections, sending probes (dendrites?) deeper and deeper into the intricacies of our inner and outer worlds … we are Pioneers, you and I, in the self-awareness of the universal mind.

Just think about it!!!
