263 – SYMMETRY …

1: balanced proportions

also: beauty of form arising from balanced proportions

2: the property of being symmetrical

especially: correspondence in size, shape, and relative position of parts on opposite sides of a dividing line or median plane or about a center or axis [1]

The time it takes the moon to rotate around its axis is symmetrical with the time it takes to orbit the Earth.

The human body is the symmetrical proportion of two halves working as one.

The solar system is the symmetrical dance of planets around its star and moons around its planets.

The basic structure of Hydrogens atoms at one end of the Universe – a nucleus, a single electron, a relatively constant factor that defines spin, life span, and decay – is symmetrical with the Hydrogens atoms at the other end.

The Fibonacci sequence is Symmetry in mathematics and sunflowers.

The mass of a body is a measure of its energy content.”

There is order, beauty, and balance in Symmetry. And whether determined by primal forces or its own volition, Symmetry is a form of Self-reflection … there is no proportion, nor continuity, nor order without one side reflecting on the other.

Symmetry is self-evident in the obstinate persistence of our Universe to unfold toward complexity and order.

And so the mind is pressed to ponder about the force behind the obstinate persistence of Symmetry:  What is it that drives the self-reflective progression of our Universe not into disorder and chaos, but into order and consequence?
